Marquez knocks out Pacquiao in sixth

A blood-splattered Juan Manuel Marquez survived a broken nose and standing eight count to beat Manny Pacquiao with a stunning knockout at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

The 39-year-old Mexican connected with a straight right hand to Pacquiao's chin in the final second of the sixth round to knock the Filipino clean out.

Marquez had Pacquiao on the canvas as early as the third round, when a straight right counter punch dropped the 33-year-old Filipino - the first knockdown he had scored against him in four contests.

Great fight. Marquez increased his punching power by strenghtening his neck and shoulder muscles. That counter right from Marquez, has some pop in it. The knowkdown Packman scored against Marquez, was more of an off-balanced slip.

Just want to say how bad the Thai TV coverage was. Raf too many adverts were shown. The starts of rounds were missed because of adverts and after the fight had finished there were more adverts than TV coverage.
