BAY sets B2bn for e-banking

Bank of Ayudhya (BAY) plans to invest another 2 billion baht over the next three years to strengthen its e-business and service growing financial transactions.

From this year to 2015, the budget will be used primarily to improve internet and mobile banking services after the bank invested the same amount two years ago to develop its e-business infrastructure.

President Phillip Tan said businesses are demanding a larger electronic banking system. Thailand has 75 million mobile phone subscribers, 24 million internet users and 17.8 million mobile internet users.
