Samart eyes 4G trial within days

Samart Corporation will likely be awarded trial fourth-generation service on TOT's 2100-megahertz spectrum, a move that will pave the way for commercial 4G service in a partnership model.

"The 4G trial is expected to take place this month," said Youngyuth Wattanasin, TOT's acting chief executive.

Samart recently proposed installing long-term evolution (LTE) equipment as part of TOT's 3G trial.

Many parts of Thailand don't have fresh running water, only well water. Sewage still goes to leach field in Nonthaburi, just across the river from Bangkok. But every n****r in Bangkok needs a refurbished Iphone to brag to their British schoolmate that's visiting soon. India two point oh, are we?

Yes, Samsung is indeed expending into 7G in S. Korea. 2G and 3G technology (and maybe 4G one day) befits Thailand, which is blessed with dinosaur politicians and a feudalistic system of administration.

TOT hired SL Consortium, which includes Samart and Loxley, to install 5,300 base stations for its first phase at a cost of 15.9 billion baht.
That first phase is scheduled to launch commercially on Feb 22 with 4,000 base stations, mainly in Bangkok and major provinces.
All 5,300 base stations will be completed in May as planned, said Mr Youngyuth.
Today is 11th February and they say that they will install 4,000 base stations in 17 days. That is an average of 235 EVERY DAY. Nothing was said about the infrastructure required and where will they buy 4,000 4G base stations off the shelf?

I bet someone will stand up to Samart to court one day before the second phase begins. The whole affair will take three years and by 2016 Thailand will implement 4G.
