If he suffers from such mental problems, then he should not ever drive. As a reminder, he grew impatient waiting for the bus. So he drove on the sidewalk and ran over people. It's not just problems with his brain; he has no heart. This is very sad for the Thai justice system.

This is a good chance to set a precident of "law" over "wealth & power."

    Please take it!

There must be some in the Justice system, Government and Police with integrity and morality.

Is the system so corrupt that nobody can do anything about these gross miscarriages of justice?

And no more on the couple who abducted, enslaved and tortured that poor Karen girl. They were last known to police being protected by "an influential person" on the Burmese border.

Well, you know you are in Thailand when justices are skewed in favor of the rich and famous. We had all read / seen these scenarios many times before and probably more of the same in the near future. Nothing changes as long as the color of monies can buy the hearts and souls of the people’s conscience.

When will the ordinary people stand up and say they are tired of the two-tier justice. Unless people protest, nothing will change. It needs the masses to demand justice is seen to be done to all. if I was an ordinary Thai I would hate this situation all the more.

How many doctors have been bought?Mentally ill and continue driving. Kanpitak is mentally ill. Wait until the Red bull heir 's physician come up with the same excuse. If the victim of hit &run were high ranked police the jail sentence ,if ever be jail sentence, would be 6 months longer.

"the defendant had paid compensation that satisfied the injured parties and family of the deceased". How does that protect society from the next time he is "unable to control himself"? It should be impossible to buy oneself out of criminal actions; especially violent crime.

Long time expats with Thai families, want to do some REAL HARD soul searching?

Ask yourself what would happen if some drugged up hi-so ran you down, then offered your loved ones monetary compensation for the loss of your life, while your mangled corpse lies in the temple waiting for the stove.

On second thought maybe it's better to mai kit maak.

What's more sad about these cases is that, of the money that went around only a tip of the iceberg would go to the "lowly ill-educated" victims. Most of the chunk would go to those involved with higher educational attainment (easy to guess who).
