Kasetsart backs light rail move

Expressway plan seen as danger to students

Kasetsart University has backed the Transport Ministry's move to build a light rail system in place of an expressway in its part of town.

The light rail system was likely to pose an an eyesore, but it was "more acceptable" than the expressway, rector Wuttichai Kapilakarn said.

We need a complete system for Bangkok preferably underground because it takes up less space .We need a complete reliable train system for the country .Ours is out of date too small and the gauge is too small .Not high speed either .Just reliable

Expressway is for cars, therefore it serve no useful purpose for an already jam-packed Bangkok. Mass transit, light rail or heavy rail, on the other hand, is the only answer to get Bangkok moving, especially now which is already decades late.
